IN PICTURES: How insurgency affects your health

If you are from northeast Nigeria, or you interact often with people within the region, Newsclinic would like to inform you on how bad your health could get if you are not cautious. Here is why in pictures:

More than 1 million people in the northeast have been displaced by insurgency and they live in camps like this.

They share the same make-shift toilets, which makes it rather easy to contract toilet-related infections.

They share the same sharp object in hair making, nail cutting, and in other domestic use. This is known to drive the insurgence of HIV/AIDS in the north.

On these camps, protein is too much to ask(speak not of a balanced diet) — the people feed majorly on rice and corn. Hello Kwashiorkor!
